LAHORE, Nov 8: Kasur police claimed on Tuesday to have busted a nine-man gang of robbers allegedly responsible for two murders. Kasur DPO Ahmad Mobin said Ali Ahmad and Yousaf were shot dead and two others injured on resistance by the robbers a day before Eid. The miscreants had also snatched a licensed rifle from the injured.

He said a special team was set up to probe the crime. The team raided a place in Raiwind, but its inmates opened fire which was retaliated. More police were sent to the scene, and the miscreants finally surrendered to the police.

Three pistols, two guns and a rifle were recovered from the hideout. Those arrested were identified as ring leader Qadir, Sabir, Murtaza, Mustafa, Ahmad Ali, Tariq, Khalid, Akbar and Pitras Masih.
