Pakistan has reported 2,988 coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours. This is the first time the country has reported less than 3,000 cases since July 24 when 2,819 cases were recorded.

According to the National Command and Operation Centre, 53,158 tests were conducted during the last 24 hours. The total number of cases has risen to 1,207,508 and the death toll is 26,787.

The country's positivity rate is 5.62 per cent.

Punjab reported the highest number of cases during the last 24 hours with 1,208 infections, followed by 905 in Sindh.

  • Punjab: 1,208 cases, 14 deaths
  • Sindh: 905 cases, 26 deaths
  • Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 490 cases, 20 deaths
  • Islamabad: 246 cases, 2 deaths
  • Azad Jammu and Kashmir: 111 cases, 3 deaths
  • Balochistan: 22 cases
  • Gilgit-Baltistan: 6 cases, 2 deaths
