KARACHI, Nov 7: Landhi police recovered two girls, who were kidnapped a month back from Landhi-89, on Monday. The recovery was made within 24 hours following the surprise visit of Sindh Home Minister Rauf Siddiqui to Landhi police station.

The minister had given 24-hour ultimatum to SHO and in charge investigation of Landhi police station for the recovery of the abducted girls. He had warned the police officials that if they failed to recover the girls, stern action would be taken against them.

Mehreen, 17, and Rani alias Kiran, 14, were kidnapped from Landhi-89 about a month back. Their relatives met Landhi Nazim Ismail Qureshi on Sunday and apprised him of their agony. The nazim inquired about the details from Landhi police station. He was told that the incident took place on Oct 13 while the report was lodged on Oct 21.

The complainant, Mohammed Amir, had accused that their neighbour, Mohammed Ali, with the help of a woman, Gulnaz, abducted the two girls.
