DACCA: When is the new East Pakistan Cabinet likely to be announced? This patent question is being asked in different quarters since the new civilian Governor took oath of office on Sept 3. When newsmen tried to find out his own thinking about it, after the swearing in ceremony, Dr [A.M.] Malik was reticent and would not say anything. Naturally, he did not want to make any premature statement. ... How soon the Governor will announce his cabinet depends on how soon he is able to finalise the names. A local report said the announcement would come within one week.

It is not known how many ministers will comprise the Cabinet but indications are that it may consist of ten to twelve members drawn from among the elected members of the Provincial Assembly if possible, and prominent members of the public having record of public service. — Staff correspondent
