RAWALPINDI: On the directive of Regional Police Officer Imran Ahmar, a police official held a meeting with representatives of the business community to improve traffic flow and remove encroachments from Murree Road and areas in Sadiqabad.

Rawalpindi Islamabad Business Union Vice President, Sadiqabad, Haji Taj, General Secretary Arshad Usman Shami and Deputy Superintendent of Police (traffic) Ali Rafique attended the meeting.

The business community representatives said the Naz Cinema U-turn should not be closed as it would increase the traffic pressure on Committee Chowk.

They said the business community would cooperate fully with the traffic police to improve the flow of traffic on Murree Road, at Naz Cinema, Committee Chowk and Sadiqabad sector and also remove encroachments.

The DSP said encroachments established by shopkeepers not only disrupted the flow of traffic but also affected the beauty of the city. Preparations are being made and all kinds of resources will be utilised to resolve this issue.
