RAWALPINDI: Police have decided to perform polygraph tests of the suspects and victim in the Pirwadhai seminary student sexual assault case.

Potency test of the male suspect will also be carried out as investigation for the case is underway.

According to the first information report (FIR), registered on Aug 17, the victim was tortured and sexually abused. The FIR was registered with Pirwadhai police, two days after it happened.

Police said after seeking permission from the court on Aug 18, medical examination of the victim was carried out at the hospital and the medical report was made part of the police investigation.

A police team, led by the senior superintendent of police (investigation), was constituted to look into the case. Police said it had been decided to perform a polygraph test of both suspects involved – the seminary principal and a female teacher – besides the victim.

A police spokesman said the SSP and other senior police officials decided to conduct tests of the victim and suspects while reviewing progress in the case on Monday night.

The administrator and a female instructor of the seminary were booked by police after a female student accused them of sexually assaulting and torturing her.

The administrator - prime accused in the case - was arrested by police, although he was later released by the court on bail.

The FIR stated that one of the teachers of the seminary took the victim into the principal’s room where he attempted to sexually assault her. However, when the victim resisted, she was subjected to torture by both the teacher and principal.

The victim’s father said that she was also given medicine, following which she fainted and does not remember what happened to her afterwards.
