The Sindh government has announced the resumption of indoor dining for vaccinated individuals in Karachi and Hyderabad till midnight subject to 50 per cent occupancy, according to an order issued by the provincial home department.

Outdoor dining will also be allowed till 11:59pm for vaccinated individuals. For the unvaccinated, indoor dining will remain banned, while outdoor dining will be allowed till 10pm. Other main Covid-19 restrictions that will remain in effect from September 1 to 15 include:

  • All commercial activities — except essential services — to close at 8pm in Karachi and Hyderabad, and 10pm in other districts and divisions
  • Two days in a week to be observed as safe days (Friday and Sunday in Karachi; Friday and Saturday for Hyderabad; and Friday for other districts)
  • Carrying vaccination cards will be mandatory for those dining out. Takeaway and delivery will continue
  • Ban on indoor wedding ceremonies in Karachi and Hyderabad; allowed in other districts for up to 200 vaccinated guests till 10pm
  • Outdoor wedding ceremonies with 300 guests allowed in Karachi and Hyderabad, and 400 guests in other districts till 10pm
  • Shrines (in Karachi and Hyderabad) and cinemas to remain closed
  • Normal working hours for public and private offices with 50pc staff attendance in Karachi and Hyderabad; 100pc in other districts
