Pakistan's Covid-19 death toll crossed the grim milestone of 25,000 after the country reported 80 new fatalities over the last 24 hours. The total number has increased to 25,003.

According to the National Command and Operation Centre, 53,881 tests were conducted during this period and 3,772 came back positive. The total number of cases has risen to 1,127,584 and the positivity ratio is seven per cent.

Punjab reported the highest number of deaths during the last 24 hours with 30 fatalities, followed by 25 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Breakdown of Covid-19 cases and deaths reported during the last 24 hours:

  • Punjab: 1,270 cases, 30 deaths
  • Sindh: 1,145 cases, 22 deaths
  • Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 783 cases, 25 deaths
  • Islamabad: 360 cases, 1 death
  • Azad Jammu and Kashmir: 149 cases, 2 deaths
  • Gilgit-Baltistan: 39 cases
  • Balochistan: 26 cases
