The federal capital remains the only city out of the country's 25 major cities with a population of one million to have surpassed the 40pc vaccinated population target set by the government to be achieved by Aug 31.

According to data of the district administration, 61pc citizens of Islamabad are either partially or fully inoculated.

The data revealed that over 1.3 million doses had been administered in the federal capital as a result of which 61pc of the total eligible population was fully or partially vaccinated.
