Islamabad soccer

ISLAMABAD, Jan 23: As many as 19 teams are to compete in the Islamabad District soccer league which kicks off Friday.

The sides have been divided into four groups with champions Islamabad Club, Ravi, CDA and Islamabad United in Group D.

Group A comprises Mehran, Education, Evergreen, Jinnah and Haidri Clubs while Group B has Huma, PTV, Rovers, Al-Faisal and Ramna. Akbar, Millat, Quaid-e-Azam, Kiran and Friends Humak have been bracketed together in pool C.

Three teams making their League debut will be Friends Humak, Ramna and Education who have been granted playing rights.

Matches in Group A and D are to be played at Mehran Ground while those in B and C Groups will be contested at the Pakistan Sports Complex.
