LAHORE: The Lahore chief traffic officer (CTO) has suspended from service two traffic wardens and issued a show cause notice to the sector in charge for misbehaving with a family at Cavalry Chowk.

The CTO took action after a mobile phone video clip of the incident went viral, showing the traffic wardens misbehaving with a woman and her relative, who were in a car.

The wardens had stopped the car and exchanged hot words with them.

In a statement issued here on Monday, the CTO said the traffic wardens – Shahid and Munawar – were found guilty in an inquiry launched by Traffic SP Asif Siddique.

He said he had ordered an inquiry after the family submitted a complaint and the video clip of the incident surfaced.

He said no traffic warden was allowed to misuse his authority and warned any official found teasing and harassing families on the road won’t be spared.
