Saddar Town capture title

KARACHI, Nov 1: Skipper Asif Azeem led from the front to help Saddar Town annex the ninth Ramazan Danish Trophy with a 67-run victory over Pak Independent CC in the final played the other day.

Asif captured four for 18 as Pak Independent CC were dismissed for 102 while chasing a target of 170 in 20 overs.

Asif, named Man-of-the-Match, received good support from leg-spinner Qamber Ali (three for 26).

Earlier batting first, Saddar Town scored 169 for six. Zahidullah Jan (46), Haq Nawaz (30) and Iqbal Surti (24) being the chief run-getters.

KGA Gymkhana’s Andre Bernard was declared tournament’s best bowler while his team-mate Jonathan Rodrigues was adjudged the best batsman.
