Accommodation for 120 families

Published November 2, 2005

LAHORE, Nov 1: District nazim Mian Amer Mahmood has said 120 families ejected from the FC College in compliance with the court orders would be provided alternative accommodation.

He was talking to a delegation of Christian community led by MNA Akram Gill here on Tuesday.

Mian Amer said the families living in the FC College unlawfully were being ejected under the directions of the court. The government was, however, aware of their problem and would provide them alternate accommodation in the form of plots on an ownership basis.

He said the chief minister had assured full cooperation to the displaced families and ordered provision of alternative accommodation to them. He directed the DO (revenue) to identify state land for allotment of three marla plots to the displaced families at one or more places.

MNA Gill said the families should be allotted plots at the earliest so that they could build their houses.

The SSP (operations) urged the displaced families to remain peaceful and not be misled by the miscreants.

The delegation included councillors Salim Gabriel and Salim Khawar.
