RAWALPINDI: Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar on Tuesday laid the foundation stone of 116 projects of Punjab Ab-i-Pak Authority for Rawalpindi Division which will cost more than Rs270 million.

Aab-i-Pak Authority’s Patron-in-Chief and Governor Punjab said no one would be allowed to take or give commission of even a single penny in Aab-i-pak Authority.

According to details, the ground breaking ceremony of Punjab Aab-i-pak Authority projects was held at Governor Annexe on Tuesday. Chairman Aab-i-Pak Authority Dr Shakeel Ahmed and members of National and Provincial Assemblies were also present on the occasion.

Punjab Governor while addressing the ceremony and later talking to the media said that more than 1,500 projects of Punjab Aab- i-Pak Authority would be completed by the end of this year through which clean drinking water would be provided to more than 7 million people of Punjab daily.

He said that similar number of people would be provided clean drinking water with the contribution of NGOs.

He further said Prime Minister Imran Khan had also appreciated the projects of Punjab Aab-i- Pak Authority.

The Punjab governor said Aab-i- Pak Authority could fix sewerage system besides providing clean drinking water.

He said that filtration plants will be installed in the constituencies without any political discrimination.

MNA Sadaqat Abbasi said that the people of Rawalpindi are grateful to Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar and his team of Aab-i-pak authority for providing clean water in their area.
