KARACHI: Compensation announced

KARACHI, Nov 1: Sindh Home Minister Rauf Siddiqui on Monday announced Rs500,000 compensation amount for the family of late Abdul Aziz, husband of MPA Asma Sherwani, who was allegedly killed in police firing on the Super Highway.

Calling on Asma Sherwani at her residence, the minister said that such incidents were intolerable as the duty of police was to curb criminal activities instead killing innocent citizens.

Following the killing of Asma’s husband, Abdul Aziz, the home minister had ordered arrest of the accused policemen.—PPI
