KARACHI, Nov 1: The Vice-Chancellor of University of Karachi, Prof Dr Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui, has asked students to celebrate Eidul Fitr in a simple manner with a spirit of devotion and dedication.

In a message issued on Monday, he urged them not to forget the hundreds of thousands of earthquake victims and come forward to support them with all possible monetary assistance in this hour of need.

The VC pointed out that the nation, in the wake of the disaster, had authored a new history of unity, cooperation and sacrifice.

However, he stressed, that the high spirit of support must continue till the tasks of rehabilitation and reconstruction of disaster-affected brethren was successfully accomplished.

Prof Qasim paid rich tributes to people in general and students in particular, who had worked day and night to collect donations, relief goods as well as medicines, and dispatching the same to the affected areas. — APP
