Pakistan has reported a record 95 coronavirus-related deaths over the past 24 hours — the highest since May 20 when 102 deaths were reported.

Sindh has reported the highest number of daily deaths, numbering 42, followed by Punjab's 31.

The country's death toll has now climbed to 23,797.

Meanwhile, 4,720 new Covid-19 cases have been recorded in Pakistan, raising the national tally to 1,063,125.

A breakdown of Covid-19 cases and deaths reported in Pakistan during the last 24 hours is as follows:

  • Sindh: 2,170 cases, 42 deaths
  • Punjab: 1,099 cases, 31 deaths
  • Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 584 cases, 17 deaths
  • Islamabad: 524 cases, 2 deaths
  • Balochistan: 102 cases, 1 death
  • Azad Jammu and Kashmir: 335 cases, 2 deaths
  • Gilgit-Baltistan: 64 cases
