OKARA, Oct 31: A man was allegedly shot dead when he was chasing some outlaws who had kidnapped his daughter on Monday. Reports said one Liaqat alias Mirza allegedly entered the house of a widow, Najma Bibi, and kidnapped her on gunpoint.

On knowing about the incident, the woman’s father Asghar Ali started chasing the accused, who opened fire on him. As a result, Asghar Ali died on the spot.

Najma Bibi had reportedly admonished a relative of the accused for urinating in front of her house a few days back.

Police shifted the body to DHQ hospital for autopsy and have registered the case.

ROBBERY: As many as seven robbers took away gold ornaments worth one million rupees and Rs40,000 cash, besides a rifle and a pistol, from a house in Model Cooperative Housing Society.

Reports said the robbers entered the house of Muhammad Jamshaid in the night and fled away with cash and valuables after taking hostage the inmates.

Various investigation teams under city DSP are trying to trace the dacoits.
