MANSEHRA: A tourist from Quetta was buried alive under a mass of snow in Naran area of the Kaghan valley here on Monday.

Noroz Khan was taking a selfie beside the edge of the Lambi Pati Naran glacier when it suddenly collapsed, burying him alive.

The locals retrieved the body from under the mass of snow. An official at the local basic health unit said that the victim had already died when he was brought to the health facility.

Witnesses said that the end of the glacier located at the entrance to the Naran town collapsed due to melting caused by scorching heat.

The body would be dispatched to Quetta on completion of the medico-legal formalities.
