MUZAFFARABAD, Oct 30: Alliance for the Restoration of Democracy (ARD) chairman Makhdoom Amin Faheem on Sunday warned that delay in the rehabilitation of quake survivors could lead to another disaster with loss of more lives.

Talking to newsmen during his visit to the quake-hit AJK capital, he claimed that people were not satisfied with relief and recovery activities, and called for making these operations more effective.

“The (federal) government must make its activities more effective and send more troops, including those from the Navy and Air Force to the quake hit areas,” he said.

Mr Faheem said the PPP had established a tent village in the name of party chairperson Benazir Bhutto in Muzaffarabad where around 200 families had been housed and were being provided foodstuff.

The ARD chief paid tributes to the people of Pakistan for providing all possible help to the quake victims without wasting time.

Speaking to reporters on the occasion, AJK People’s Party president Sahibzada Ishaq Zaffar severely criticized the Azad Kashmir government for its “failure to respond to the situation immediately”.
