Peshawar blast leaves nine injured

PESHAWAR, Oct 30: Nine people were injured in an explosion in a building on Shah Pir Road in Nothia on Sunday afternoon, locals said. The owner of the building, having three shops and a storage house in the basement, had gone to offer Zuhr prayers when the explosion occurred, they said.

The injured are: Riazullah, Amanullah, Adnan, Nauman, Ejaz, Altaf, Shahid, Aftab and a woman who had come to a dyeing shop, said area Nazim Asif Khan Baghi.

He said it was a bomb which had exploded in a shop or the storage house.

However, police and the owner of the building claimed that a gas cylinder in one of the shops had exploded due to gas leakage.
