KARACHI: The Gulberg Champions Trophy, organized by Gulberg Hockey Club, will commence today under the auspices of Karachi Hockey Association.

The event, which will be played at the KHA Sports Complex astroturf, will be competed between four teams including Gulberg Hockey Club, Rabbani Hockey Club, Baldia Hockey Club and Nazimabad Mujahid Hockey Club. The tournament will be inaugurated by KHA patron-in-cheif Major General (retd) Tariq Haleem Suri who is also a Sitara-e-Imtiaz recipient.

Asim Khan will be the organizing secretary of the event while Imtiaz-ul-Hassan will perform his professional duties as the umpire manager. Nadeem, Asad Zaheer are included in the technical officials panel.

Two matches will be played on the opening day. The first match will be played between Rabbani Hockey Club and Baldia Hockey Club at 4:00pm while the second match will be played between host team Gulberg Hockey Club and Nazimabad Mujahid at 5:00pm. The final of this event, which is played on the basis of the single league, is scheduled on July 31 at 4:30 pm.
