LAHORE, Oct 30: Police claimed on Sunday to have arrested an alleged terrorist and seized explosives from him. Lahore investigation police chief Chaudhry Shafqaat said a special team of the anti-terrorist squad was assigned after a tip-off that the terrorist would arrive Lahore by a train.
He identified the accused as Mohammad Awais alias Faisal, 28, and said he belonged to a banned religious outfit. He would not disclose the group. However, a police source said the alleged terrorist belonged to the defunct Lashkar-i-Jhangvi.
The police chief said over two kilo explosives, detonators and other gadgets used in bomb making had been seized from the accused, who had been training other terrorists for bomb making.
