LAHORE, Oct 30: The Mayo Hospital administration has made arrangements for providing artificial arms and legs to some 500 earthquake victims.

Disclosing this here on Sunday, Medical Superintendent Dr Fayyaz Ahmed Ranjha said that eight victims had already been provided artificial arms and legs.

The MS said that items worth Rs10 million had also been distributed among the victims by the hospital administration.

He said that every victim admitted to hospital had been given financial assistance of Rs22,000. Warm clothes and toys had also been distributed among the injured and their attendants.

TREATMENT: Services Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Riaz Ahmed Chaudhry said that two medical teams were providing treatment to earthquake victims in Azad Kashmir and Mansehra.

He said a third team comprising 14 members had been dispatched to Muzaffarabad while the hospital had also donated medicines for victims.

The MS said that a number of victims were under treatment at hospital while Punjab Health Minister Dr Tahir Ali Javed was supervizing arrangements for their treatment.

Paramedical staff and ambulances were available round-the-clock for providing relief to earthquake victims in compliance with directions of Punjab Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi, he said.
