Robbers’ gang smashed

OKARA, Oct 30: Police claimed to have smashed on Sunday a gang of outlaws allegedly involved in six murder cases and seven robberies. DPO Tahir Mehmood Malik told journalists Shakar Garh (Narowal district) based Naeem Alias Neema established a gang which committed a number of heinous crimes, including robberies and murders, in Sheikhupura, Kasur, Nankana Sahib, Sahiwal, Pakpattan and Okara.

He said Sheikhupura Range DIG Pervaiz Rahim Rajput had issued special instructions to police to burst this gang.

After a long search, the DPO said, Okara police arrested Neema and his two accomplices Ilyas and Chano. The police team was lead by Renala Sadar SHO Shakil Ahmad Khokhar. The police have also recovered an 8-mm rifle, a pump-action and a Kalashinkove, along with a huge amount of ammunition from the gang members, the DPO said.

WOMAN SHOT DEAD: A man shot dead his wife as she had left his house after a domestic dispute.

Reports said one Patani Bibi of Moza Shareen was married off to Khizar Hayat. After a quarrel, six months back, she left her husband and started living with her parents.

On Saturday evening, Khizar, along with his brother Riaz and two other accomplices, shot dead Patani Bibi when she was working in her father’s fields.

RELIEF GOODS: The City Tajar Ittehad has sent two truckloads of relief goods to the quake victims.
