MUZAFFARGARH: A 20-year-old woman died due to the alleged negligence of doctors at the Kot Addu Tehsil Headquarters Hospital on Saturday.

The family protested against doctors and staff in front of the hospital.

The medical superintendent said he had started an inquiry into the death of the patient.

Iqra Bibi was admitted to the hospital for a delivery case on Saturday. After the delivery procedures, she was shifted to the labour room where her condition started deteriorating. The family contacted the staff for immediate treatment only to be told that doctors would treat her but no one came to see her.

During this time, she was given injections by paramedic staff but her condition became worse and she died after two hours of the delivery case.

The family alleged during the whole saga, the paramedics kept demanding money in the name of ‘mithai’. The family demanded a murder case against negligent doctors and appealed to the chief justice of Pakistan to take notice of the incident.

Deputy Commissioner Amjad Shoaib Tareen has ordered Health Chief Executive Officer Dr Mehr Iqbal to hold an inquiry into the incident.

ACCIDENT: Two persons died in a road accident when a motorcycle and an oil tanker collided on Muzaffargarh-Mahmoodkot Road.
