HYDERABAD: Activists of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) staged protests on Sunday in parts of Sindh to condemn the foul language used against its founder chairman Zulfikar Ali Bhutto by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader and federal minister Ali Amin Gandapur.

The protests were held Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Matli, Badin and several other cities and towns.

Criticising the PTI leadership, the protesters on the occasion levelled counter allegations against them. They highlighted the achievements of the PPP government during the tenure of Bhutto.

In Hyderabad, the activists gathered in front of the district council under the aegis of the party district chapter and raised full-throated slogans against the PTI federal minister.

In Mirpurkhas, the protesters staged a sit-in outside the local press club, carrying banners and placards and raising slogans against the federal minister.

Highlighting the great works of late prime minister Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, the protest leaders said he was the leader of world who had warned to the United States over its injustice with the third world countries, brought 90,000 detained prisoners of Pak Army from the captivity of India after successful negotiations with the neighbouring country.

They said Bhutto had started the atomic project of Pakistan under his supervision and introduced the labor rights and national dress.

Zulfikar Ali Bhutto had given his life for the restoration of democracy in the country and did not surrender before the dictator, they added.

In Badin, they held a protest, carrying banners and placards while raising slogans against the statement of Gandapur.

A similarly protest was held in Matli in front of the press club where the PPP workers condemned the attitude of the federal minister.
