Election dispute leaves two dead

GUJRANWALA, Oct 29: A landlord and his employee were gunned down by their rivals over an election row in Ferozewala on Saturday. Reports said Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf Gujjar and Faiz Ahmad were present at their outhouse near the village when former union council nazim Muhammad Aslam Buttar along with his men came there and opened fire, killing them on the spot.

Police have registered a case and are investigating.

Two people of both the groups have been killed and many others injured over election dispute during the last two months.

HEARING: The anti-terrorism court No.1 on Saturday continued hearing of marathon race case against MMA MNA Maulana Qazi Hamidullah and others and recorded the statement of ASI Muhammad Younis.

Judge Mujahid Mustaqim adjourned the case till Nov 14.

Police said Mr Hamidullah and his workers had attacked the participants of marathon race outside Jinnah Stadium and set officials vehicles on fire in April this year.
