LAHORE, Oct 29: The second consignment of tents the Jamaat-i-Islami has purchased from Saudi Arabia to set up tent villages for quake victims reached Islamabad from Jeddah on Saturday.

A Saudi-chartered plane has transported the Rs15 million consignment comprising 2,000 tents, says a press release.

Six more flights will bring another consignment of 8,000 tents from Saudia shortly, it says.

Over 7,500 tents have already been procured from Riyadh and Dubai and delivered to the quake survivors, it adds.

The Jamaat plans to provide around 50,000 tents for setting up tent villages in Muzaffarabad, Balakot and Rawalakot where thousands of quake survivors need shelter from severe cold and snowfall. — Staff Reporter
