TAXILA: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam said 45 water filtration plants have been installed for provision of clean drinking water to the residents of Attock, Hazro and Hasanabdal.

Costing Rs60 million, these filtration plants will help in controlling waterborne diseases in the areas, he told a gathering after inaugurating water filtration plants in Pethi and Rahmu villages of Hazro on Monday. He also said the PTI government was taking revolutionary steps for promotion of the education sector in Attock.

Mr Aslam said Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Attock campus will start offering admissions in BS Agriculture, BS Mathematics, BS Computer Science and BS Economics this year.

The university campus has been established over 1,000 kanals at a cost of about Rs1 billion.

He said the campus when fully operational will accommodate more than 30,000 students in different faculties. Besides, it will create hundreds of job in different fields. He said the campus will have foreign qualified PhD teaching faculty and hostels for students.

Mr Aslam also said through different initiatives launched by the PTI government, the country was on path of green diplomacy.

On the directive of the prime minister, the number of national parks has been increased across the country which will not only help restore the natural environment but will also promote eco-tourism.
