In view of the uptick in coronavirus cases in the province, a meeting headed by Sindh Chief Secretary Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah has decided to take action against people and places that do not follow SOPs, including sealing marriage halls, cattle markets, shops and restaurants where SOPs are being violated.

Shah also directed the Karachi commissioner to impose smart lockdown in areas with a large number of coronavirus cases.

During the meeting, the Sindh health department recommended a ban on indoor dining as well as the closure of schools up to the primary level. The recommendations will be presented in a meeting of the provincial task force on coronavirus.

The chief secretary also directed that the number of mobile vaccination teams be increased.
