SAHIWAL, Oct 28: Farid Town police on Thursday night arrested three bandits after a raid on a den from near Chak 88/6-R. Reports said the patrol police raided the den, but the bandits opened fire on law enforcers. The police also returned the fire and arrested three dacoits after a brief encounter. The arrested accused were identified as Sharif, Ali Sher and Aslam. While two of their accomplices — Mustafa and Murtaza managed to escape from the scene. Police also recovered a rifle and two pistols. The arrested accused disclosed that they were planning to loot buses on Sahiwal-Noorshah Road. They were sent to the central jail on a 14-day judicial remand.
Four cases were registered against the arrested accused. — Correspondent
