KARACHI: Release ordered

KARACHI, Jan 23: The accountability court No 4, headed by Judge Muhammed Jawaid Alam, ordered on Wednesday the release of two accused in a reference after they returned the amount acquired through illegal means.

Naseer and Fateh Khan were charged for causing loss to the national exchequer through the release of official funds on bogus claims from the Left-Bank Outfall Drain Project.

Fateh Khan surrendered over Rs3.5 million and Naseer Rs222,337 to the state.

ACQUITTED: The anti-terrorism court No. 4, headed by Judge Khan Pervaiz Chang, acquitted a man in a kidnapping-for-ransom case.

Zeeshan was prosecuted for his involvement in the kidnapping of an owner of a garment factory in New Karachi.

Abdur Rasheed Rahmani of Hamid Garments was kidnapped with his Honda Civic car.
