KARACHI, Oct 27: The City Nazim, Syed Mustafa Kamal, on Thursday issued directives for gearing up work on the Lyari Expressway Resettlement Project and in connection with the shifting of allottees to ensure early completion of the project.

He said survey work in un-surveyed areas should be immediately undertaken along with expeditious shifting of people.

He issued these directives at a review meeting of the Lyari Expressway Resettlement project. The meeting was attended by concerned town nazims, Project Director Shafiqur Rehman Paracha and the EDO Revenue.

The city nazim directed that teams assigned with the survey work, should be strengthened further with an increase in the number of their labour force.

It was also decided that steps should be taken to overcome the shortage of machinery.

The meeting took notice of complaints regarding sale of plots by allottees. It was, therefore, decided that action would be taken in this regard with the cooperation of town nazims.

Mr Kamal directed the Lyari Development Authority to submit a list of the allottees who had not yet started construction on their plots.—APP
