KARACHI: Man shot dead in encounter

KARACHI, Oct 26: An alleged gangster was shot dead in what police claimed to be an encounter in Saeedabad early on Wednesday morning. Police got a tip-off that some members of Rehman Dakait gang were hiding in a house in Saeedabad.

Accordingly, the police raided the spotted place where an exchange of fire took place.

An alleged gangster Abdul Razzak Zehri was killed in the shootout. Police recovered one Kalashnikov rifle, a pistol, and bullets.

SP CID operations Raja Umer said that the Sindh government had announced Rs300,000 reward money for providing a lead to Zehri. He said that the suspect was involved in more than 21 different cases of criminal nature.

WOUNDED: Three persons were wounded in what police claimed an encounter near Gillani Railway on Wednesday.

Police said a mobile of Aziz Bhatti police station was patrolling in the area when they noticed two persons on a motorcycle roaming around in a suspicious manner.

As police tried to intercept them, they opened fire and managed to escape. Police also returned the fire. During the cross-fire three persons, identified as Nusrat, 12, Zahida and Ghulam Rasool, who were present in the nearby hutment sustained bullet injuries. They were taken to the JPMC for treatment.
