MITHI: Four women and a man committed suicide over the past three days in different parts of the desert district, it was learnt on Wednesday.
A widow identified as Zulekha Nohtrio, 65, committed suicide in the village of Bagal near Dahli town.
She hanged herself with a rope from a tree near her house. The motive behind the extreme step could not be ascertained immediately.
The body was shifted to the taluka hospital in Chhachhro for a medical examination.
Another married woman took her life near Nagarparkar town. Attar Bai Kolhi, 22, jumped into a deep village well due to unspecified reasons.
Villagers took out her body after hectic efforts.
Seventeen-year-old Sajan Meghwar also committed suicide in Tabha locality of Mithi town. The boy hanged himself with a rope from a tree.
His body was handed over to the relatives after a medical examination.
A 17-year-old boy, Sambho Meghwar, took his life by jumping into a deep well in the village of Sankrio near Chhachhro town.
Villagers retrieved his body from the well after hectic efforts.
His parents and relatives told reporters that he was upset due to employment issues.
A 28-year-old pregnant women, Lachmi Kolhi, committed suicide in the village of Bharodaro near Nagarparkar town on Wednesday.
She strangled herself to death with a rope in her house. The reason could not be ascertained immediately.
