DADU, Oct 25: A girl from the Pat Gul Mohammad union council has said that some government-backed influential people have dubbed her kari because she was election agent of an ADP candidate during the local body elections.

The girl, Safia, 18, with her father Fateh Mohammad Leghari, reached the DPO office and sought protection.

She told the DPO that she was asleep in her home in Taj Mohammad Doltani village of the Johi taluka when some armed men entered the house and tried to kidnap her.

She said she started screaming and they beat her up severely and tore her clothes.

She said the assailants fled when family members and neighbours arrived.

In her written application to the DPO, the girl has nominated Mohammad Amin Laghari, Mohammad Anwar, Saeed Khan and Khadim Laghari as the accused.
