LOWER DIR: Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Pakistan (JUI-P) leader and former chairman of Council of Islamic Ideology Maulana Mohammad Khan Sherani has said coordination between religious scholars and lawyers is important to ensure the rule of law in the society.
He was addressing a function arranged by the sub-divisional bar at Chakdara here on Monday.
JUI-P leaders Maulana Gul Naseeb Khan, Maulana Shujaul Mulk and Chakdara bar president and others were also in attendance.
Maulana Sherani insisted the country had always had a weak democracy due to the interference of the establishment with the political process.
He claimed that the United States was pursuing a policy of division, pushing the Muslim nations into the fire of sectarianism.
He asked the Muslims to be aware of these conspiracies and avoid fighting against each other on someone’s dictation. He said a peaceful, developed and prosperous society guaranteed successful life.
EVENING OPD OPENS: District Development Advisory Committee (DDAC) Chairman Malik Liaqat Ali on Tuesday opened the evening OPD at the District Headquarters Hospital, Timergara.
On the occasion, hospital’s medical superintendent Dr Shaukat Ali said the evening OPD was started because of patients’ rush. He said surgical, medical, children, orthopaedic and ENT units would remain open from 2pm to 6pm daily wherein specialist doctors would examine patients.
The DDAC chairman visited different units of the hospital and appreciated its progress report. He said the government was allocating hefty sums for an improved healthcare delivery.
