SIALKOT, Oct 25: Process for the allotment of plots in Export Processing Zone (EPZ) established near Sambrial-Daska has been completed and the development work is under way.

Spreading over 24 acres, official sources said, the EPZ would have about 900 plots of four categories. The zone was being set up jointly by Export Processing Zones Authority (EPZA), Punjab Small Industries Corporation (PSIC) and Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), the sources added.

The project would be completed at a cost of Rs110 million while the Customs House and an administrative block had already been constructed, they said.

Sources said that the government would provide incentives and trade-related facilities to the Sialkot business community and other interested people of the adjoining areas.

Facilities like One-window operation, simplified procedure, water, gas, electricity, telephone, telex, import permits and export authorizations would be provided within the 24 hours.

Sources said GSP commissions given by various countries to import from Pakistan would be available to manufacturers in the zone.

They claimed that 50,000 gallon water would be supplied to the zone daily. International telex and telephone services would also be made available through 450-line digital exchange linked with all parts of the world satellite communication.
