TAXILA: Attock Police on Sunday launched a crackdown against drug peddlers and conducted raids in different parts of the district, arresting six suspects apart from recovering drugs from their possession.

According to a police spokesman, Attock Saddar police arrested two suspects and recovered 3.3kg of hashish from their possession. Hassanabdal police raided a den and recovered 1.3kg of hashish from the suspect’s possession. Attock police arrested a suspect and recovered 0.5kg of hashish from his possession. Similarly, Pindigheb police in their operation, managed to recover 2.3kg of hashish from the possession of two suspects. Taxila police held another suspect and recovered 1.1 grams of hashish.

Separate cases have been registered against all of them under the Narcotics Control Act while further investigations are underway, the spokesman added.

Woman abducted

A woman was abducted by unknown people in the jurisdiction of Wah Cantonment police station on Sunday. Asim Shahzad reported to police that his 20-year-old wife was going to her parents’ house when she was picked up by unknown persons. Police registered an abduction case against the suspects and a search has been launched.
