ISLAMABAD, Oct 25: The Pakistan People’s Party has said it is continuing relief work in the earthquake-affected areas. In a press statement here on Tuesday, the party said a delegation headed by member National Assembly Nafisa Raja distributed cash among the affected people living in camps in Islamabad.

The delegation distributed cash in the relief camps at Bhara Kahu, Technical Institute for Special Children hospital and at the ground in front of the media office of the PPP. A total of nearly Rs1 million was distributed among the victims.

Meanwhile, the PPP Canada held a fundraiser Iftar dinner and collected nine hundred thousands dollars for the earthquake affected people.

The Canadian government would match the grants (doubling the amount) with a condition that the money collected should be channelled through thee NGOs — the United Way, The Red Cross and the IDRF.
