KARACHI: Firearms, liquor seized

KARACHI, Oct 25: The Pakistan Coast Guard seized hundreds of bottles of foreign liquor, firearms and rockets following the arrest of a man in Balochistan on late Tuesday night.

According to a spokesman for the Coast Guard here, the raid was conducted on information that hundreds of bottles of liquor were transported on camels. The officials raided a place in the Basol area where a shootout took place. After a brief exchange of fire, a man was arrested, a Kalashnikov, seven rockets and a huge quantity of foreign liquor were seized.

The number of bottles and the name of the suspect were not disclosed by the spokesman for unknown reasons.
