LAHORE: Unidentified men kidnapped a minor boy and dumped his body in a pond in Sundar area after killing him, police said here on Friday.

Identified as Mohammad Rehan, 10, the boy was found murdered when locals spotted his body in the pond near Baba Allauddin’s shrine. A police official said the boy had gone missing when he was playing outside his house. He said forensic experts were working on the case to dig out facts and the body had been shifted to the city morgue for autopsy.

In another case, a woman was allegedly tortured to death by her in-laws at Batapur here on Friday. Zainab, 18, was shifted to hospital with multiple torture marks and she breathed her last. The parents of the woman alleged that her in-laws and husband used to torture her over petty domestic issues. On Friday, they said, Zainab’s husband Ghulam Abbas and his mother Shakeela tied her arms and legs and beat her with hard objects which led to multiple bruises on her head and chest.

A police official said police registered a case against and arrested Ghulam Abbas and his mother on the complaint of Zainab’s father.

The body has been shifted to the city morgue for autopsy.
