ISLAMABAD: A man died in a road accident in the capital whereas cash and valuables worth millions of rupees were stolen from different places.

The accident happened in Shahzad Town after another vehicle hit the victim’s car, police said, adding the driver of the other vehicle managed to escape from the spot. The victim suffered injuries and was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Meanwhile, suspects stole cash and ornaments worth Rs2.2 million from a house located in Lohi Bher, the police said, adding that burglars broke into the house of Mohammad Hussain at Jinnah Garden during absence of the residents and ransacked the house.

Moreover, cash Rs263,000 was stolen from a shop in Pakistan Town, they said, adding two armed people raided at Mohammad Javaid Iqbal’s shop and held up the shopkeepers at gunpoint. They snatched cash from him and escaped.

In another incident, a vehicle and a mobile phone was snatched from a man in Bhara Kahu, the polices said, adding that a man intercepted Mohammad Ahsan when he reached the area and held him up at gun point. A Honda 70 and a mobile phone worth Rs80,000 was snatched from him. Cash, ornaments and a mobile phone was stolen from a woman in G-9/1, the police said, adding two armed suspects held the woman at gun point and snatched cash and valuables worth Rs55,000.

Similarly, culprits looted cash from a man in G-10/1, they said, adding two persons armed with weapons intercepted Mohammad Amin Ashraf, held him up at gunpoint and snatched cash Rs10,000 from him.

Furthermore, a mobile phone, laptop and internet devise worth Rs400,000 was stolen from a car in G-10/4. The stolen items belong to Arsalan Mehmood.

Meanwhile, five vehicles were also stolen from different parts of the capital, police added.
