IMMUNISATION CERTIFICATE: Acquiring Covid-19 pandemic’s immunisation certificate from the National Immunisation Management System (Nims) has become a herculean task. Its web site completely misleads certificate-seekers. The end result of the information fed to the website is the following reply: vaccination mukamul ho chuki hay (your vaccination is completed). I suggest to the relevant authorities to create a user-friendly website exclusively for immunisation certificate-seekers.

TRAFFIC COLLISION: Another traffic collision took place in the middle of the Kohat tunnel on May 29. Blown-out lights, poor traffic management and ultra-loaded trucks in the tunnel are the causes behind such accidents. The passage of the tunnel is used by load carriers, van passengers and officers posted at various stations. Authorities must take serious actions to prevent future hazards.

RESIDENCE STUCK IN PAKISTAN: A large number of Pakistanis with UAE residence and work permits have been stuck in Pakistan since Eid because of Covid-related restrictions. The governments of both the countries should actively consider removing all such restrictions. The Covid situation in Pakistan is much better than in India, and we should not be clubbed with the neighbour.

MARGALLA FIRE: Like previous years, the Margalla hills of Islamabad were on fire recently. In Pakistan, forest fires are mostly manmade. It is time the authorities came up with proper planning to tackle this issue. There must be designated areas for picnics, barbecues, bonfires and smoking. Further, there is already an established force in the form of 1122. It can be instrumental in tackling the issue if it is given the right equipment and enough powers.
