KHAIRPUR, Oct 24: Five police personnel, including one head constable, were booked and three of them detained after three under trial prisoners escaped from the Khairpur Civil Hospital.

According to reports, the B-section police registered an FIR on Monday against head constable Liaquat Ali Mari, constables Imam Bux Ujjan, Mumtaz Ali Ujjan, Ghulam Hussain Phulpoto and Azhar Ali Mahessar.

Three of them Imam Bux Ujjan, Mumtaz Ali Ujjan and Ghulam Hussain Phulpoto were arrested on Sunday late night.

All five police officials were on duty at prisoner’s ward in the civil hospital.

They have been alleged of negligence in the prisoners’ escape.

The escaped prisoners were identified as Khamiso alias Ameer Bux Sehto, Fayaz Chandio and Suleman Kaleri, who snatched an official Kalashnikov from constable Imam Bux Ujjan.

Fayaz Chandio and Suleman Kaleri were brought to the civil hospital from the Khairpur central jail on October 22.

Khamiso alias Ameer Bux was admitted to the hospital on October 18 and all the three escaped on October 23 evening.

On the other hand, the Sukkur RPO suspended DSP city Khairpur, Ali Mohammad Shahani and SHO B-section police station, Rab Nawaz Rajpar, on Monday for their negligence.
