GUJAR KHAN: Suspended police staff of Qazian police post was dismissed and given compulsory retirement on Saturday after they were found guilty of torturing a man in illegal confinement, said City Police Officer Rawapindi Ahsan Younis.

According to details, Zubair, a resident of village Mohra Pattian of Gujar Khan, had complained to CPO Ahsan Younis about the brutality of Qazian police two weeks ago in open forum session in later’s office.

He had complained that Qazian police staff fractured his leg while torturing him in custody when he refused to give hefty amount in bribe demanded by them.

Taking notice of the issue, CPO Ahsan had suspended the whole staff of Qazian police post and an inquiry was lodged against them for further action.

DSP Gujar Khan Malik Rifaqat inquired into the matter and the policemen were found guilty of torturing the man when he denied giving bribe.

On Saturday, CPO Ahsan Younis dismissed In-charge Qazian police SI Aqeel Rathore, constables Abdul Wajid and Amir Hussain from police service and sent Moharar Head Constable Mohammad Naseem, Constables Ibrar, Zia, Tallat and Mohammad Ishfaq on compulsory retirements.
