Another case of ‘honour killing’

Published October 24, 2005

GUJRANWALA, Oct 23: A man killed his sister-in-law when she allegedly refused to develop illicit relations with him at Mandiala Tega Wahadno on Sunday.

Reports said the deceased woman was in her house along with her infant child when accused Qasim Ali tried to assault her. On facing resistance from the woman, who was his brother’s wife, the accused opened fire on her. The woman died on the spot, while the accused was handed over to police.

Qasim alleged in police lock-up that his sister-in-law had a bad character and had illicit relations with a youth of the same village. However, the police have registered the case against the accused on the report of his brother and are investigating.
