HYDERABAD, Oct 23: District Nazim Kanwar Naveed Jamil has announced that a major cleanliness campaign would be launched in the district from October 26 to make Hyderabad a clean city before Eidul Fitr.

He was presiding over a meeting held at the district nazim secretariat on Friday.

He directed all the TMOs to prepare a contingency plan on the emergency basis and assess and arrange more machinery and sanitary staff within four days and put it in the field from October 26 for one week so that the people of Hyderabad could celebrate their Eidul Fittre in healthy environments.

He directed them not only to hire required machinery and transport but even to call back the staff who were on leave.

The nazim assured the TMAs concerned that in addition to their own resources additional financial assistance would be provided to them from the district government to make the campaign a success.

The district nazim also asked UC nazims of the district to play their supervisory role and share in socio mobilization as without public participation the campaign would not succeed.

The district nazim directed the builders not to leave their building material unattended on the road side but evolve mechanism at their own to remove it earlier.

He asked TMAs concerned to set up complaint cells and arrange dustbins in their respective areas.

He warned that henceforth the ghost employees of TMAs would not be allowed to take rest at their homes but would have to perform their duties regularly.
