LAKKI MARWAT: A prayer leader along with a young son and a daughter died due to suffocation while digging a well inside his house to be used as a septic tank in Tank district on Tuesday.

Reports said the digging of well caused a crack in the existing septic tank inside the house in Kot Gul Baqi area, and stench and poisonous gas started coming out, which caused the instant death of the house owner identified as Hanifullah.

The deceased’s son, Khalilur Rehman, 18, and a daughter (13), also died as they tried to save their father.

A villager namely Taj Gul also fainted while rescuing the family in trouble.

The area people and rescuers shifted the bodies and the villager to the District Headquarters Hospital, Tank. Taj Gul is stated to be in critical condition.

The ill-fated family belonged to Lakki Marwat district and was presently residing in Tank.
